I had a revelation recently (regrettably, I should've thought of this sooner): there was absolutely no reason for my Gemini capsule and website to be generated from the same repo. all my SSG woes pretty much stems from this limitation. Hugo is *that* bad when I remove Gemini (or email or anything else) from the equation. using a tool to do what it does best should have been obvious. oh well. I'll look into pure Gemini capsule SSG options. currently looking at a custom ad-hoc solution that just executes templates with a script.
like my gopherhole as well as some of my other Gemini capsules (that doesn't host my primary gemlog).
speaking of gopher, I recently added both (Gemini) client certificate support and go her protocol support to gelim, my line-mode smolnet client
https://github.com/hedyhli/gelim
it was easier than I expected to get things started. will definitely have to squash a few bugs here and there later on.
I got back to gelim because I rediscovered the joy of consuming content on the internet using a terminal in a monospace environment. and I haven't found any existing TUI clients that can provide what I want (and not have me check the docs every time I want to use it). they would all great be if I were using it all the time, though.
